I bought a brand new John Deere LA120. After a few uses it would not starting time or I would go a click audio or it would only plough over once or twice and so null. I thought it was the battery or an open basis causing the problem.
A newer high amp battery may not change anything. I carefully checked out all the wiring. Nada. I asked a dealer. He said information technology was the valves out of alignment. I thought he was crazy. I checked with a second dealer and he said the same thing. He said they could conform the valves but I would be back side by side twelvemonth with the same trouble.
His suggestion was to rotate the air intake counter clockwise that sat on top of the engine until I felt resistance and so it should showtime. I rotated the air intake equally he suggested and could feel the resistance and hear the cylinders and valves moving. Then it started right upward. So that is how I have to first the affair every time.
Sometimes I have to turn the air intake clockwise for information technology to first. The air cleaner is the screen disc that sits on top of the engine and rotates when the engine is running

How long has the mower sat with the gas in the tank? If y'all have dirty gas in the tank it can clog the fuel line, filter and carburetor.
You also need to check the solenoids on the mower to brand sure they are good and don't need to be swapped out.

If the gas is from final season and you did not have additive added then you may have clogged the jets in your carburetor. If the bombardment does not seem to exist part of the problem (whatsoever motorcar parts store volition check it for you) then you might try using some carburetor cleaner. Always check your air filter as your mower will non run with a dirty filter.
You will demand something like this for cleaning your carburetor and in that location are YouTube videos to show yous how or just ask at the auto parts store.

Plugs are non supposed to exist wet with gas...Either also much fuel is coming out, or no spark. Check your fuel filter and the gaps on your plugs.

This could be an issue with the starter in the mower or a problem with the spark plugs. Check them out and encounter if you are getting any juice to them with a voltmeter.

Since you but purchased this mower in that location is a guarantee that they should honor. If you lot try to fix this yourself it can void your warranty. I would call the company you lot purchased this from and have them come accept a await at the mower.
Maybe it is a unproblematic fix that they can do at your dwelling. You may demand to take it dorsum to the shop where you bought it from.

If this is simply happening in cold weather maybe there is something that is blocking your carburetor that is causing the gas to not menses freely to start the tractor. I would see if in that location is anything in the fuel lines or if they are blocked that is causing this to not start.

Here are a few things that can cause the tractor to not first.
- Audit your spark plugs for signs of clothing and tear. The spark plug is what ignites the air mixture and fuel in the engine's cylinder to starting time the tractor.
- You could accept old or bad gas in your engine. If you lot have left gas in the engine it could evaporate and exit a thick substance in your engine that can clog your engine. The old gas can clog the carburetor and your engine won't strt.
- The concluding problem could be a clogged fuel filter. This also happens from bad or dirty gas.
- Before replacing any of these parts rain the old fuel from your fuel tank and replace it with new fuel.

It looks like you accept already replaced your bombardment so at that place must be something that is draining your battery and is causing this crying/whining noise.
It could exist a number of things so only trying to supervene upon everything information technology 'could exist' I would suggest you become (if possible) to your local auto parts shop and discuss this problem with a knowledgeable person (you might have to try more than one shop) every bit they are used to dealing with minor engine problems and they can examination your battery if necessary (you lot may not be recharging it fully) if you lot take the battery with you. Of course the ideal thing would be to have the mower with y'all but I know that is non always possible.
If you lot practice not take all new gas you should think nigh replacing this also.
A mower works best with new filters and spark plug every flavour.
Only I believe you probably take a more serious problem since you lot are hearing these noises when engine is trying to crank.
If you prefer you can also ask your questions at a local backyard mower store or tractor supply store every bit they should have someone to assistance y'all figure out what is happening with your mower.
Simply try not to have to leave information technology for service as this will be an expensive pecker, just, in the finish, you lot may have to practice this.
Sometimes using a starting fluid will help but I think you have problems other than merely a starting problem.
If you cannot get to your shops right now then try calling them on the phone as they may be able to offer some sort of aid - mainly considering they can ask you questions to assistance them diagnose your problem.
Good luck - hope you have it purring abroad shortly.
